“To appreciate the beauty of a snowflake, it is necessary to stand out in the cold.” — Anonymous
(It has a kind of Confucius ring to it, but it could’ve been said by just about anyone. You’d definitely get a longer look at a snowflake out in the cold! I still really appreciate the change of the seasons that we see here in the Northeast, but as I’m getting older it does seem that my blood is thinning a bit. I never used to ever wear a hat, no matter how cold it got! But nowadays I’m more prone to bundle up. Be well and do good, friends.) —YUR
Clue/Question: The winner of the demolition derby did– – –
Answer: A BANG–UP JOB
(“Oh, the demolition and the figure eight is easy money in the bank. Compared to runnin’ from the man in Oklahoma City, with a five hundred gallon tank.” Yeah, that Jim Croce was one heckuva story teller. He’d been recording since 1966, but it wasn’t until 1972 that he really broke out with “You Don’t Mess Around with Jim”, then “Operator”, and “Time in a Bottle”. All of his songs were very understandable, and easily sung . . . by just about anyone. Including yer favorite uncle!
All of today’s clue words have been on the Jumble circuit for a number of years. Three of the jumbles are on their rookie stripe, but good ol’ “sbino” has been around the mud track a number of times. All the jumble clue words sprung from the starting gate, like scared jack rabbits. The answer letter layout was a tantalizing ten letter jumble. I thought it was much less obvious than the actual final answer!
I like the reporter from station CRSH. I also see ol’ Crash runs for the Jumble Team! I hear that both of our boys used to *race* the demolition derby. Jeff went by Killer Knurek, and David simply competed as Chrome-Dome! Ba-dum-tsss!Thank you, thank you, very much! I’ll be here all week. Try the veal! Lot’s of fun, kiddies! Be well and do good, friends.) —YUR
