“The color of springtime is flowers; the color of winter is in the imagination.” — Terri Guillemets
(I’m not really sure if Terri initiated this quote. The internet says that she is a “quotation anthologist”, and that she collects quotes. Regardless, this is a wonderful quote. I’ve never seen a quote from Ms. Guillemets at the Cryptoquote before today. So, we welcome Terri Guillemets to the Cryptoquote Club today! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

Good morning. I am the author. I had no idea that I was quoted for this until a few newspaper readers emailed me about it. I’d never seen the Cryptoquote before so did a web search and found this page first and then the USA Today page. (They got the quote a bit off — it’s actually “The color of springtime is in the flowers; the color of winter is in the imagination.” It’s from something I wrote in 2007.) But I’m flattered nonetheless. And thank you for your nice blog post. Yes, I am indeed a quotation anthologist; my collection lives at http://www.quotegarden.com. Have a wonderful day!
Wow, Terri! I’ve been posting these for quite some time now, and you might be the second author who has written to the blog! We also had someone who said that a relative of theirs was the author of a quote. A lot of the quotes that we see are a little off from the original. I think that this just means that you’ve really made it!
Thank you for your nice comment. Best of luck with your anthology!

Very flattering to hear from the author herself! The Cryp editors frequently *edit* the quotes, slightly, but the idea of flowers coloring springtime came right through, vividly!
