Answer: LENGTH OF TIME
(I was kind of expecting period of time – not accounting for the available letters – but length of time works too. I’m in a bit of a mood, so I’m going to keep the comments brief. The dopey newspaper is not going to be delivering a paper on Thanksgiving day, so they delivered tomorrow’s paper today, but no delivery of Wednesday’s, aka today’s! I dutifully went to the Life section and completed all three of the puzzles that I usually do. As I’m beginning to type my Jumble solve, I glanced below what I thought was the Answer for today, and saw “Yesterday’s Jumble Answer”, with words that I did not recognize, and realized they screwed me! I double checked the driveway to see if there was a Wednesday paper, but there wasn’t. I called Customer Service, and the automated said that there will be no delivery on Thanksgiving Day, but no mention of Wednesday! When I got an actual person they agreed it was strange but her records showed that there would be no physical delivery of a Wednesday paper. Only an online version. Because it was so strange she gave me credit for a missing paper. Now, I had to go to my email, to access the online edition and print out the three puzzles! If I had been apprised of the insanity – ahead of time – I would have put the Thursday paper aside, so I’d have puzzles to solve tomorrow. Now I have no puzzles for tomorrow, as I solved six today. What makes matters worse is I read tomorrows funnies too, before realizing what they were doing. So, I read the funnies out of order. I ask Customer Service all the time – because there are SO many failed deliveries – if they are trying to get people like me to cancel home delivery, but they insist they aren’t. I think this is another example of the inmates running the asylum! Wow. Aren’t you guys glad I kept this brief?
All familiar clue words. Three of the jumbles are coming up as new, but we’ve seen “gomlu” before. The answer letter layout was a terrific twelve letter jumble. Decently cryptic. The second and third words came right away, and from the GHETLN the word LENGTH came to me.
Cute cartoon of the teacher teaching the tots about measuring the passage of time. It’s a lot for little minds to grasp, but they’ll get the hang of it. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
