Clue/Question: The first space tourists to completely orbit the earth will have – – –
Pre-Answer: Three Words (5-letters)-(4-letters) (7-letters)
Answer: ROUND–TRIP TICKETS
(One-way wouldn’t be very practical. Now would it? I don’t know if this is SpaceX, Blue Origin, or Virgin Galactic, but all of them have gotten into the space tourism industry. The rides certainly don’t come cheap. $250K to $500K for a suborbital flight, and an actual orbit is MUCH more expensive. So, you too can go up to space for about the cost of your house! That kind of extravagance is positively absurd to me. But with some folks . . . money is no object.
All of today’s clue words are on the world famous ralis95 clue word database! However, all six of today’s jumbles are coming up as new for me. I got the first five clue words immediately, but it took me a few looks to see “potent”. The answer letter layout was a stupendous sixteen letter jumble. Spectacularly cryptic. But the combination of the word “orbit” in the clue/question, the dialog line of: I can’t believe we just saw the whole planet, and the hyphenated first and second final answer words led me to ROUND-TRIP. The ITCKSET got me to TICKETS.
Fine cartoon of what looks like a shuttle craft, with a pilot, co-pilot and some passengers re-entering the earth’s atmosphere. Hopefully, the splash-down, or whatever landing they’re doing, is a smooth one. Great Jumble pun! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
