Cryptoquote Solved – 11/18/22

Was she a witch… Or did Hansel and Gretel smear an old lady to cover up a crime? | by Michelle Steele | Medium

If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales.  If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.”   —   Albert Einstein

(I guess Big Al’s mom read him a lot of fairy tales!  I don’t specifically remember my Mom reading them to me, but I’ve always known a lot of them, so she must have.  I remember reading them to my kids.  Their favorite was always “Hansel and Gretel”.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Clue/Question:  Mile’s dreams of being a pilot are over since he’ll soon be – – –

Los Angeles Times redraws comics pages with five fresh titles - Los Angeles Times

Answer:  GROUNDED FOR LIFE

(A wonderfully stinky pun, utilizing the quintessential parental admonition.  Which is always a gross exaggeration anyway.  It’s more likely Miles will be grounded for either two weeks, or perhaps a month.  But breaking both a window AND a television???  I’m betting on the month!  Two weeks for each breakage.  Poor kid.  He’s definitely too young for a remote control airplane anyway.

All of today’s clue words have been used in previous Jumbles.  However, all four jumbles are coming up as new for me.  But I saw them all immediately.  The answer letter layout was a terrific twelve letter jumble.  Nothing obvious about it.  The leading nature of the clue/question, along with the final answer slots layout with the word FOR, made for an immediate solve for me.

Great cartoon from our guest cartoonist, Tauhid Bondia, the creator of “Crabgrass”.  The illustration looks kind of familiar, but once again this comic strip is not carried in my newspaper.  I’m digging the old school TV, with a cable box on top!  It’s nice to know that I’m not the only person in the world who still has a few of those!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
