Clue/Question: If a male bovine could drive a car, you’d see a – – –
Answer: STEER STEERING
(I wonder if there is any connection between the English expression bollocks and the word bullock! Bollocks technically means testicles, though when they say it they usually mean nonsense. A steer is a castrated bull, which means he’s had his testicles removed. And, another word for steer is bullock! And, a steer driving a car is nonsense. So, it comes full circle!
It’s not the first rodeo for any of today’s clue words. They all have the R95 brand on them. And, only one of the jumbles is coming up as new. We have seen “ceeem”, “cante” and “drsuia” in previous Jumbles. I thought that both “cante” and “drsuia” were fairly challenging jumbles. The answer letter layout was a thrilling thirteen letter jumble. I thought it was carefully cryptic.
Really amusing cartoon of the bullock driving the jeep. Or, maybe it’s an old Bronco! No one looks more surprised than that horse! I think the answer to one of the cowboys’ question is: On a cattle drive! The steer definitely seems very intent. But where could he be going? Off to greener pastures? Maybe, he’s just trying to get out of Dodge. He’s probably herd what eventually happens to steers! Yikes! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
