Clue/Question: The wren that owned the huge manor in South Carolina liked being the . . .

Answer: “ESTATE“ BIRD
(A great little pun, for a cute little bird. But it’s only been South Carolina’s official state bird since 1948. Before that their state bird was the mockingbird. But the mocking bird was also the official state bird of Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas! I think that South Carolina just wanted to distance themselves from those states. I don’t know why. They’re all redneck states anyway! LOL! Apologies to any readers from any of those states.
We have seen all of today’s clue words before. Three of the jumbles are coming up as new, for me. But we’ve definitely seen “tidey” in previous Jumbles. “DEITY” is one of those words that spells out in alphabetical order. The answer letter layout was a tidy ten letter jumble. I thought it was a fully-fledged cryptic jumble. I ticked off DIBR first for BIRD. That left me with EATTES, which got me to the pun, ESTATE.
Amusing cartoon of the two birds. That is some birdhouse! Even though he owns the stately manor, he seems to enjoy slumming in a common bird’s nest! I wonder what kind of bird the other one is? He mentioned retiring to Arizona, so maybe he’s a Cactus wren. Either that, or a snowbird! LOL! Fun Friday Jumble. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
