RODPO = DROOP, THAMC = MATCH, VANEHE = HEAVEN, GRELYC = CLERGY — Giving us: ROPMACHANCEY
Clue/Question: She was starting a new business and had plenty of people wanting to – – –
Answer: ACCOMPANY HER
(Yeah! Get in on the ground floor! Maybe the company will really take off, and they’ll end up as executive bigwigs! With stock options and corporate perks. Ah, but to dream. I remember, long ago, when I was single, a couple of buddies and I were at a bar, hatching this scheme to score with some pretty ladies at work. We were all to take turns talking up the one guy to his desired lady. Saying what a great guy he was, and how much he admired her. To us it seemed like a foolproof plan! But, by the sober light of day, we kinda had a change of heart. I wonder whatever happened to Big Mike and the Rat-man?
Of course, we’ve seen all these clue words before. I think “match” just this past week. And, three of the four jumbles have definitely been used before too. The only new jumble appears to be “vanehe”. The answer letter layout was a twisty twelve letter jumble. I thought it was very nicely cryptic. After looking at it for a minute, I decided that the three letter word had to be HER. This left me with OPMACANCY, which helped me to see ACCOMPANY!
Fine cartoon of the ladies at the wine bar. I thought the charcuterie board was a nice touch. I hope they all feel the same way when they wake up the next morning. The one starting the business might not even want either of those rummies! LOL! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
PS. I’m friends on Facebook with the girl that I had in mind that crazy night. She married some other guy from work. A guy that I never much cared for. But it looks like she has had a happy life too! Regrets? I’ve had a few. But then again, too few to mention. LOL! — YUR
