Rawlings Heart of the Hide Limited Series 217 11.75" Infield Glove PRO2175-13SBC (2021)

Answer:  OFFHAND REMARKS

(The Jumble, like baseball, is an American Classic!  For folks like us, it’s our national pastime.  You have to have that attitude of:  winners in life don’t always win; they just don’t give up.  Today’s Jumble is a great example of that.  The individual clue words were probably a quick solve for you, as they were for me.  But that fourteen letter answer letter layout jumble was a bit of a beast!  Nothing really jumps out at you.  After a minute, or two, I keyed in on:  there only being four vowels, there were two F’s, and no C to go along with the K.  Then, with the dialog and the cartoon of the two gloves, it all fell into place, right into my bare hands.

No new clue words today.  Three of the jumble were reruns as well, with only “rwufor” coming up as new, for me.  I’m liking these longer final answers!

Cute cartoon of the reporter interviewing the baseball player in the locker-room, after what was likely a loss.  In the foreground, the catcher’s mitt is kind of giving it to the fielder’s glove.  And, the fielder’s glove is trying to give it right back to him.  Catchers have to be fearless, and it’s arguably the hardest position in baseball.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

UR: This one stumped me at first, but then REMARKS jumped out at me from nowhere; that left OFFHAND and it was solved! As for the clue words, I always put them in alphabetical order first, before trying to solve. You’d be surprised how many actual words are spelled in such order, quickly revealing the answer.

Most of the five and six letter clue words come to me pretty quickly, boss. But the next time one gives me trouble I will put it in alphabetical order and see if that does the trick for me! I have noticed that many words seem to spell out in that order, especially when I look them up on your list! I used to mention that frequently in my posts, but few seemed to take notice of it. — YUR

Note(able): I’ve come to the conclusion that my journey in the world of Chess, due to my age, is on a very slow climb in the FiFi world and actually there’s a benefit, in that I’m actually just enjoying the game for the game’s sake, strange,,,,,,, life does take funny turns, right guy??¿

Subnote::: FiFi is my dog’s name!!!¥☆

Congrats, Ken! I only know the basics of chess, but I’m sure that it’s a game that keeps the brain well-oiled. When we reach a certain age, the whole “competitive” aspect becomes almost irrelevant! Regards to FiFi! — YUR
