Sunday Jumble Solved – 08/14/22

Tarzan chimp 'Cheetah' dies aged 80: But was he the real star and even that old? | Daily Mail Online

Visual Description:  Serengeti seat selection.

Clue/Question:  The animals got into the furniture business to provide – – –

Pre-Answer:  Two Words  (8-letters)  (8-letters)

Cheetah, said to be Tarzan's sidekick chimp in 1930's, has died at the astonishing age of 80 – The John Carter Files

(An awesome Jumble pun!  As an old-time fan of the Johnny Weissmuller “Tarzan” movies I was jazzed to see use of the name Cheetah.  Although, I don’t remember any explanation why Tarzan named his chimpanzee after one of the big cats.  Maybe Cheetah outsmarted a cheetah, or something.  He was a very clever chimp!  Kind of like Lassie of the jungle.

All too familiar clue words this day.  Five of the jumbles did come up as new, for me.  However, we have definitely seen “sitimf” before.  The only one I had to look at a few times was “tpreen”.  Gambling, poetry, and religious terms are all kind of in my blind spot.  I eventually get them, just not immediately.  The answer letter layout was a spectacular sixteen letter jumble!  I think the combination of the clue/question’s leading nature, and the final answer slots being 8 and 8 clued me right in.

Very entertaining cartoon!  The customers are a giraffe, a lion, and a toucan.  Cheetah must be in his office, as it looks like he has monkeys as his sales people.  Cheetah actually lived a little longer than Johnny did!  80 to 79.  Nice African Acacia trees in the distance, out the door.  Back to Tarzan though.  I always thought that Maureen O’Sullivan was a babe!  One of my earliest crushes.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

We all love, love, love you! Sometimes you’re a bit of a stranger, but when you do show up, with your multi-comments, you always bring a refreshing air of positivity! Thanks, kiddo. — YUR

Thank you Unc! I’m actually caught up on doing the Jumbles. What happens is, I get far behind in reading the blog. I can’t just arbitrarily delete them. I know you work hard on putting them together, the research you put into the blog, pictures, etc., so I don’t want to miss reading it. Then, sometimes, I just HAVE to respond, no matter how many days have passed! PLUS, I have to see if RALIS will be adding any new words to the database! I appreciate your blog so much!

    Have a big Sunday!! LL

LindaLee, LindaLee! I’ve been writing this silly blog for over fourteen years now, and sometimes I tell myself that I should call it a day. It doesn’t draw the visitors that it once did, and there are a few other blogs out there that also post the solutions . . . usually much earlier than I do. But the loyal and dedicated readers – such as yourself – keep me typing away. Especially when they are as sweet and complimentary as you! Thank you for the kind words, kiddo!

UR, I agree with Linda Lee, you have a wonderfully unique blog and connection with the Jumble-verse peeps. I’ve often thought what an amazing job you do, so consistent and thought-provoking…and funny! I also like that you’re not a youngster, but rather a voice of experience and wisdom…and most importantly, a dog lover! (Good boy, Wally!) The references to older sayings, bands, shows, phrases, ways of life, and all, just make me smile! I’ve had a crazy schedule the last couple years and am in-and-out, I miss popping in every day, but am hoping to catch up one of these months. By the way, hi Linda Lee! Hope you and all your loved ones made it through the hurricane a-ok.
Take good care all, and hugs from Indy.
