(LOL!  I think if David L. Hoyt HAD put in – the expected – hyphen the final answer would’ve been a bit too obvious.  Either way, it made for a good pun.  It reminds me of the – now – politically incorrect joke of the Chinese kid named Sum Ting Wong!  Wrong?  Sure, but at least it is one of the cleaner ones.

All of today’s clue words are already on the ralis95 clue word database.  However, all of the jumbles are coming up as new, for me.  I really liked “hgurs” and “dutemi”.  The answer letter layout was a great eight letter jumble.  Very decently cryptic!  The quotation marks were a big clue.

Kind of a stock elementary classroom cartoon.  I believe that is Miss Crabapple, teaching the tots, at the whiteboard.  Remember when it was the blackboard?  And chalk?  And having to clean the erasers outside, by clapping them together?  I wonder which is unhealthier, breathing in the chalk dust, or the fumes from the magic markers?  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Cryptoquote Solved – 07/29/22

(I’m sure that there are some who could make this a current political joke.  Donald Trump was some kind of feral beast, and – the majority – viewed him as a threat to mankind.  Which is why in 2020 the mantra was:  Anybody-But-Trump!  None of my Democratic friends really wanted Joe Biden, but . . . ABT!  Joe Biden is definitely no monkey though.  He’s been dealt a really crappy hand with:  the pandemic, supply chain issues, the crisis in Ukraine, record wildfires and floods, weekly mass shootings, an economy that was probably overdue for a “correction”, and an opposition that continues to insist the election was “stolen”, just to name a few.  He’s in better physical shape than his predecessor, but he is pushing 80!  And, that’s the oldest of any person ever elected to the most demanding job in the world.  So, for those who insist on attacking Mr. Biden . . . give it a rest.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
