(Was this guy ever Superman?  I know he’s been in some super hero movies, but I can’t be bothered watching those.  I started watching one of the Avengers movies a few years ago, and even though it was extremely loud . . . I fell asleep.  And, I grew up reading the comic books!  They’ve just gotten a bit ridiculous for me.  Guess I’m gettin’ old . . . or sumpin.  Plus, English actors playing American characters always kind of tick me off.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Clue/Question:  Casino company profits were rising because of all the people going to – – –

Answer:  “LOSS“ VEGAS

(Also/better known as LOST WAGES!  More people lose than they do win.  The system is kind of rigged to let you lose/win just enough so you’ll want to come back.  But if you win too much, too frequently, they’ll figure either you have a system, or you’re cheating, and they’ll likely ban you from their casino.  If you’re cutting into their profits . . . that makes you bad for business.

All familiar old clue words.  However, all of today’s jumbles are coming up as new, for me.  But none of them stumped me.  The answer letter layout was a nifty nine letter jumble.  It was nicely cryptic.  The view outside the boardroom’s window, in the cartoon, and the quotation marks in the final answer slots, made for a quick solve.

Great cartoon!  Wonderful Dr. Evil.  And, plenty of recognizable casinos lining the Vegas strip.  And, the replicas of the Eiffel Tower and the MGM Lion were great touches.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
