You Can Thank Emily Post for These Rules of Etiquette | Martha Stewart

The single essential ingredient of good manners is a sensitive awareness of the feelings of others.”   —   Emily Post

(But people are keenly aware of their own feelings!  To the detriment of the rest of us.  I’m relatively sure that Emily Post is spinning in her grave these days.  Generally, I’m comfortable with casual dress being as prevalent as it is, although I do feel that many instances DO still call for a suit and tie.  And combed hair, and either a nicely trimmed beard, or being clean shaven.  But it irks me to no end to see some men wearing hats indoors . . . in the presence of women!  These people have absolutely no couth!  And, don’t even get me started on some folks table “manners”.  I don’t care if they don’t use the proper utensil – from outside to in – but at least hold it properly.  And, chew with your damn mouths closed!  LOL!  Which, of course, leads to: don’t speak with food in your mouth!  We’ve devolved so badly – manners wise – that I can see folks eating from troughs in the near future.  End of sermon.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Willie Nelson - Half A Man | Play on Anghami

Visual Description:  A really retro Nelson!

LMITI  =  LIMIT,  MPIYL  =  IMPLY,  GNOREL  =  LONGER,  WGLEGA  =  WAGGLE   —   Giving us:  LIIILYLNWLE

Clue/Question:  Mr. Nelson composed songs like “On The Road Again” in a way that wasn’t – – –

Neil Reshen, 75, Dies; Manager Won 'Outlaw' Singers' Freedom - The New York Times

Answer:  WILLIE“-NILLY

(Gotta love it!  I’m guessing this is around mid 1979.  Willie was already an established Country & Western star, but this song made him a BIG crossover star!  I know that I’d never heard of him before this song.  Not my genre.  But I guess I would have seen him in the movie “The Electric Horseman”.  Before he made it really big as a performer/singer he was an accomplished writer.  Penning such standards as “Pretty Paper”, “Hello Walls”, “Funny How Time Slips Away”, and “Crazy”.  Willie has definitely had his ups and downs throughout his long life, but overall he’s a survivor . . . and a thriver.  He’s an American icon!  And, yer Uncle really admires him.

Will wonders ever cease?  The word “waggle” does NOT appear on the ralis95 clue word database!  Sure, wiggle does, but not “waggle”.  This is our first new clue word in quite some time!  I wonder if David L. Hoyt has been sitting on this one, and if we might be seeing a few more in the near future?  Three of the jumbles are coming up as new, but we’ve definitely seen “gnorel” before.  The answer letter layout was an earnest eleven letter jumble.  But it couldn’t disguise the final answer, with all those L’s and I’s.

Great cartoon of the younger Willie with a friend.  At first I thought the guy standing behind him might be John Lennon, but that didn’t make much sense.  Then I thought maybe Merle Haggard, because of the beard, but I don’t recall him sporting long hair.  Then, after seeing an Outlaws poster, I decided that this was most likely Waylon Jennings.  I could very easily be wrong, but that’s who I’m going with.  Great Jumble.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
