Aliens, androids and imaginary worlds: What made Arthur C Clarke so cool - Hindustan Times

I’m sure the universe is full of intelligent life.  It’s just been too intelligent to come here.”   —   Arthur C. Clarke

(LOL!  So, what is the earth then?  Chopped liver???  Maybe some of his characters think:  Earth.  It’s a nice place to visit, but you wouldn’t want to live there!  Great scenery, but there are all these big cockroaches walking around on two legs!  Who knows how smart humans are, compared to other denizens of the galaxies?  Maybe one day we’ll find out.  I just thought it was interesting that we had both Arthur C. Clarke and Tracy Clark in two of our favorite puzzles, on the same day!  Be well and do good, friends.     YUR

Our Discussion with Tracy Clark on "Broken Places"

Answer:  AN OPEN BOOK

(Getting to know the famous author is always interesting to the readers.  Readers want the inside scoop on where the author is coming from, and how that might’ve influenced some of the stories and their characters.  Cop – and ex-cop – mysteries are usually pretty popular stories.  I’ve read a number of the James Patterson novels.  I’m sure the Tracy Clark stories are similarly entertaining.

We have seen all of today’s clue words before.  However, all four jumbles came up as new for me.  Regardless, I didn’t find any of them to be difficult to unscramble.  The answer letter layout was a tidy ten letter jumble.  I thought that it was wonderfully cryptic.  The layout of the final answer slots made for a pretty quick solve.

Great cartoon of folks yearning to hear from their favorite author, at an area book store.  Ms. Clark seems to be promoting her book:  “Borrowed Time”.  Not really her latest book, but maybe this is one of her most popular stories, and folks would like a signed copy from the author.  Hey, they also make for great gifts!  Is that David L. Hoyt waiting to meet the author?  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
