“For the whole world is Irish on the seventeenth of March!” — Thomas Augustine Daly
(The “L'” is what got me started on this one! But for a fairly short quote this took a decent amount of time. This looks to be the first quote from Mr. T A Daly at the Cryptoquote, since I’ve been posting spoilers. So, we welcome the Irish-American poet to the Cryptoquote Club today. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

Happy birthdays to John Sebastian of The Lovin’ Spoonful, and to Billy Corgan and Melissa Auf der Maur of Smashing Pumpkins!
Clue/Question: When his golf ball bounced off the rock and went in the hole, it was a – – –
Answer: STROKE OF LUCK
(Top o’ the afternoon to ye, me hearties! I’m sure that there were some Irish pirates. Today we’re being treated to a thinly veiled holiday themed Jumble, as it’s Saint Patrick’s Day. And, they always talk about the Luck O’ the Irish. And, they play a fair amount of golf in Ireland. Just no four leaf clovers, shillelaghs, or leprechauns. Ay, a more subtle St. Paddy’s Day!
I could be wrong, but it doesn’t seem like a lot of Irish/Gaelic words have been incorporated into the English language. Can you guys think of any? Pretty standard clue words today. The first two clue words are coming up as new, but we’ve definitely seen “tarilu” and “reacos” in previous Jumbles. I got “ritual” alright, but struggled to get “coarse”. The answer letter layout was a twisty twelve letter jumble. The OF was fairly obvious, and the “L”, the “U” and the “K” were enough for me to see LUCK. And, that helped me to see “coarse”.
Great golf cartoon! Gotta love the one golfer in the retro golf garb. Maybe that rock is the Blarney Stone? Maybe not? And, even though it is infinitesimally small in my stupid newspaper, I can sort of make out the classic sinking sailboat on the horizon! This may, or may not, be a hole-in-one, but it was definitely a stroke of luck. Like they say, sometimes it’s better to be lucky than to be good. But you guys should always be well and DO good! Sláinte, friends!) —YUR
