100 facts for 100 years of Machu Picchu: Fact 15 - Los Angeles Times

Visual Description:  The entire Andes.

Clue/Question:  To learn as much as possible about the Andes, students need to study a – – –

How Travellers Can Help Llamas in Peru

(The Andes Mountains cover seven countries along the western portion of South America.  They run from Venezuela all the way down to Argentina, nearly 4350 miles long!  These kids are learning this, and much much more.  A wide gamut of subjects will come into play.  Yep.  The guys gave us another stinky pun.  And, I like it!

They haven’t been able to come up with any new clue words.  But we might just have to face the fact that we’ve exhausted all the five and six letter, singularly spelled – politically correct – clue words.  Three of the jumbles are coming up as new, but we’ve definitely seen “rompit” before.  The answer letter layout was a lofty thirteen letter jumble.  Majestically cryptic!

Another great elementary school classroom cartoon.  I’m seeing pictures of an indigenous Peruvian woman with an ear of corn, some llamas, and one of Machu Picchu.  Hey, the Andes also run through Chile, and today’s Cryptoquote was from a Chilean author.  Nice little coinkydink!  The day is almost over, but I hope that you all bewared the ides of March!  Five days until the start of spring!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Import made me think a minute. Kept thinking important impromptu not dawning on me first six letters of important were the word lol. Solution not bad but I knew middle word had to be of. Last 3 words on wordle we’re smelt, focus and tease. Are they in your database?

Still haven’t tried Wordle, Randy! But “focus” and “tease” are on the database. No bueno for “smelt”, as the letters also spell “melts”. — YUR

One thing about wordle it is my understanding no plural words will ever be the answer. Melts is a valid guess, but will never be the answer. Also no offensive words will ever be the answer as in certain body parts.tryi g to keep it family oriented I guess since it is from the new York times

Technically, “melts” is not plural though. It is the *third-person singular simple present indicative form of melt*. And yes, I had to look up the verb conjugation, because I don’t know that kind of thing! LOL! But thanks for the Wordle lesson, Randy.

Thank you for the lesson in English. It has been a while since I have had a class in English. Never to old to learn. That is what is fun about word games and life. Always learning new things.a former instructor really loved the game of golf. He says God created the game of golf to keep us humble lol. Love those lessons.

LOL, Randy! Golf is definitely humbling. You know, that lesson you received only came from me, via a Google search. I entered: what tense is MELTS, and that gobbledygook I fed you was what came up. My grammatical sense is rudimentary, at best. I learn a lot of things writing this blog. How much I actually retain is another matter altogether! Have a good weekend, Randy. — YUR
