Clue/Question:  When asked if she thought they could win at roulette, she said – – –

Mac King (born December 2, 1959) is a comedy magician who has performed on television specials, often as a co-host. He has his o… | The magicians, Magic show, Clint

Answer:  WHEEL SEE

(Well, it’s certainly not impossible.  With roulette, if you bet a single number the odds are 37 to 1 against you.  If you bet a row of numbers your odds improve to 18 to 1.  But this game has much better odds than say the wheel of fortune, and of course slot machines.  Those are truly sucker’s games.  They say your best odds are in playing blackjack.  But if you want to do something constructive with your disposable income you could find some worthy charities, that are near and dear to your heart, and simply donate it to them.  There are oodles of them out there, from veterans groups, the homeless and hungry, orphanages, native American children’s and elderly/the poor schools/organizations, various children’s hospitals and disease research, to animal rights/protection groups and a slew of environmental groups.  Any of them would appreciate donations from you.  And, even though there’s no adrenaline rush from giving to charities, there’s the satisfaction that you are doing something for others, and not just lining the pockets of some greedy corporations running these casinos and casino apps.

You can’t elude the fact that we’ve seen all these clue words before.  You just shrug your shoulders, and realize that it’s fairly likely that we’ve seen the end of new clue words.  That fact does not weaken the enjoyment of doing the Jumble.  Now, does it?  At least three of the jumbles appear to be new.  The only one we’ve definitely seen is “kawnee”.  If the Kree came down from outer space in the early 1800s, and intermingled with the Pawnee . . .   The answer letter layout made for a straight eight – is straight eight a gambling term? – jumble.  With the roulette wheel taking up the lower third of the cartoon, it wasn’t exactly a long shot that the first word of the final answer would be a play on we’ll.

Fine casino scene cartoon.  If you actually want to succeed at gambling you might want to avoid those big fancy drinks though.  They also have plenty of great shows to attend at many casinos, so you don’t necessarily have to gamble away all your money.  Fights, singers, Cirque du Soleil, and of course magicians, like Penn and Teller, or . . . Mac King, etc. usually are performing somewhere in Vegas.  And, there are plenty of other family friendly attractions too.  When I went I didn’t gamble at all.  I ate pretty well though!  They have some great buffets.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
