Benjamin Franklin - Biography, Inventions & Facts - HISTORY

Constant complaints is the poorest sort of pay for all the comforts we enjoy.”   —   Benjamin Franklin

(But when you get old . . . just about all you can do is complain.  You’re unlikely to effect any real change, as younger folk rarely listen to older folk.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Clue/Question:  People thought Mary Shelley’s new Frankenstein character was a – – –

Parlour Games to play over Christmas that don't require a board

Answer:  NOVEL IDEA

(Newer than this pun at least!  Just kidding.  But I do believe we’ve had this Jumble answer before.  Maybe with another famous novel.  I’ve been posting these spoilers for so long now they’re all beginning to sound the same to me.  Maybe it’s time for me to hand over the blogging reins to somebody younger, and less jaded.  Someone who can post these puzzle answers early, like I used to.  But I must’ve done something right over the years, as I’ve inspired a couple of copy cats.

All classic clue words today!  Three of the jumbles are coming up as new for me, but we’ve definitely seen “galee” in previous Jumbles.  The answer letter layout was a nifty nine letter jumble.  Too bad it’s not Adele’s birthday!  But rest assured, I will be giving you a birthday video today.  All of the cartoon’s dialog made for a great hint.

Great period piece cartoon.  It’s hard to believe that “Frankenstein; or The Modern Prometheus” was written in 1818!  Some consider it a Gothic novel, while others argue it was the first science-fiction novel.  Mary Shelley certainly inspired a lot of writers to create more science-fiction and horror stories.  With all the cloning and gene editing scientists are doing they have to carefully consider what they are creating.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
