Answer: AT THE DROP OF A HAT
(Boy! A real Johnny-on-the-spot there! Lucky for her that he’s been stalking her??? Can you blame the guy? Hey! I wonder why his hat is staying on?! A snugger fit maybe? Who knows! Some places say the Jumble pun phrase comes from signaling the start of a race, by either dropping a hat, or sweeping it in a downward motion. I don’t know if that’s accurate, but I’d buy that.
All of today’s clue words are currently on the ralis95 clue word database. Two of the jumbles appear to be new, but we’ve definitely seen “daruf” and “cattr” in previous Jumbles. No trouble today unscrambling any of them. The answer letter layout was terrific twelve letter jumble. Wonderfully cryptic. The final answer slots layout was the big clue for me.
Fun cartoon of people on the beach. Somewhere in Mexico, no doubt. Cabo San Lucas? Puerto Vallarta? Cancun? Acapulco? I don’t know, as I’ve yet to visit Mexico. It looks warm and sunny though. Of course I liked the classic sinking sailboat on the horizon, over our hero’s shoulder! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
