Palisades Interstate Park: The Complete Guide

Visual Description:  Peeking from the peak.

Clue/Question:  The hikers found the mountaintop scenic view area after being – – –

Pre-Answer:  Five Words  (2-letters)  THE  (7-letters)  (3-letters)  (2-letters)

The Palisades cliffs, a natural monument in New Jersey

(Loooking goood!  Who used to say that?  Somebody Latino, I’m pretty sure.  It was a long time ago.  Maybe it was Cheech Marin?  Maybe it was from an old SNL skit?  Does it ring any bells with any of you guys?  As you drive up the Palisades Interstate Parkway, from NYC – well, actually from Fort Lee, NJ – there are a couple of scenic overlooks that you can stop at.  The Palisades rise to a height of 540 feet on the west side of the Hudson River, giving people a great view.  The PIP is a very scenic drive.  You wouldn’t believe you’re only a couple of miles from one of the most populous cities in the world.  At least early on.  It runs 38.25 miles, up to the Bear Mountain Bridge.

No surprises on the clue word scene!  They’re all members of the ralis95 clue word database.  However, every one of the jumbles came up as new, for me.  I had to skip over “tuorpo”, and come back to it.  I saw the other five right off the bat though.  We had “oddity” last Sunday!  If David L. Hoyt is on the lookout for a “new” five-letter clue word he should use SPOOK.  It’s NOT on the list.  The answer letter layout was a forceful fourteen letter jumble.  I found nothing obvious about it.  The clue/question, and the great cartoon, set up the final answer very nicely.

Great cartoon of the scenic overlook.  It looks like they’re pretty high up there.  There seems to be a winding river down below.  Lots of fun!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Hi, UR…Chico and the Man…During the first year, Chico used the catch phrase “That’s not my job”, which Freddie Prinze had coined in his stand up act. But there were complaints that it perpetuated the image of lazy Hispanics, so it was switched to the catchphrase “Looking Good”…And the series was originally developed for Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong. Hope all is well…🙋🏻‍♀️

Atta girl, Ange! Thanks for saving me the trouble of looking it up! “Chico and the Man” was one of my favorite sitcoms of the ’70s! I was shocked and dismayed that he took his own life. The guy was handsome, funny, and a natural actor. I remember when he was a standup comedian! Very funny. He might have started the trend of comedians getting TV shows. — YUR

YW, UR. I don’t remember the show, but being a trivia buff, the phrase has come up here and there in a game or two. The suicide…so tragic…so sad, so young. Guns…Ugh. And you’re right…he had so much going for him. Very handsome.. But it’s said that he suffered from depression. The silent killer. Brings to mind Robin Williams…Ok,..Enough…I’m getting myself bummed. On a lighter note…His son, Freddie Prinze, Jr, is married to the actress Sarah Michelle Gellar. We play a lot of 6 degrees, too. My head is crammed full of nonsensical trivial bits and pieces! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Congratulations to you and the Bills UR…it must be joyous to beat your decades old nemesis (going all the way back to Superbowl XXV when Belichick was the defensive coordinator for the Giants).

    Continued good fortunes,
