Cryptoquote Spoiler – 01/10/22

Allen Tucker | The Phillips Collection

We enact many laws that manufacture criminals, and then the few that punish them.”   —   Allen Tucker

(This seems to be an unusual quote from an American artist of . . . just about any time.  I wonder in what context he said this?  He was often referred to as The American Van Gogh!  This is his first quote at the Cryptoquote, since I’ve been posting the spoilers, so we welcome Allen Tucker to the Cryptoquote Club today!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Happy birthdays to Scott Thurston of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and Shawn Colvin!

This thought is not only applied in the USA but also in our countries (South America). It is very usual that the Laws do not fulfill their mission to punish criminals. Lawyers always find a way out to declare them innocent. Greetings Yur. Very good video.

It does sound odd. The online AZQuotes has one word different, “and then *a* few that punish them,” which seems a bit more natural. Artist Tucker must have been a real law-and-order guy.

I enjoy your blog Yur and the songs you choose I have generally not heard. So my satisfaction is double.

Most of them are American Rock standards, but a few of them are a little more esoteric. Glad you like them, Mac! — YUR
