“It is not possible for civilization to flow backwards while there is youth in the world.” — Helen Keller
(There’s always going to be youth. And, usually they think that their elders kinda let them down, and they’re going to do things differently. Better. Believe it, or not, we did try to make things better ourselves. But bad things still happened, despite our efforts. Best of luck to the youth of today, and to those of tomorrow. They’re going to need it. Be well and do good, friends.) —YUR

Happy birthday to John Paul Jones, bassist and keyboardist of Led Zeppelin!
Clue/Question: The spelling bee contestant quickly spelled the word “PRECEDENCE” – – –
Answer: WITH“E‘S“
(And, I guess with C’s too! Although, that kind of would make for a crummy pun. With a word like precedence you have to be careful not to use any S’s, or an A. There isn’t such a word as pressadance, is there? WordPress says NO! But they’re a bunch of fussy Brits, so what do they know! LOL!
The new clue word sighting continues in vain, as today’s four words are members of the ralis95 clue word database. Two of the jumbles appear to be new, but we have definitely seen both “liqtu” and “sawele” in earlier Jumbles. The answer letter layout was kind of a sneaky little six letter jumble. But it didn’t take much time to figure out the first final answer word was WITH, which just left me with an E and an S.
Nice cartoon of Zaila Avant-garde, on stage, competing in the spelling bee. Along with her proud parents in the audience. She’s the first Black American to ever win the Scripps National Spelling Bee! She’s also a great basketball player! She gives no quarter. Great way to greet the first Monday of the new year! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
