Andrew Carnegie's Surprising Legacy - HISTORY

The first man gets the oyster, the second man gets the shell.”   —   Andrew Carnegie

(If you’re not fond of oysters you might actually prefer getting the shell.  Especially if there’s a pearl in it!  But there also is value in nacre, aka mother of pearl.  It has an iridescent luster, and can be used in watch faces and in jewelry, and stuff.  I’m sure that some of you have heard of pearl-handled pistol grips.  Ooh, fancy!  I hope that everyone survived New Year’s Eve, and are having a restful New Year’s Day.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
