Clue/Question: They would get back to waxing the car after they – – –
Pre-Answer: Three Words (8-letters) (3-letters) (5-letters)
Answer: POLISHED OFF LUNCH
(Aye! There’s the rub! First things first, boss! A bright and shiny – or, soon to be shiny – stinky pun. Mr. Miyagi might not approve, but I don’t think these guys are getting free Karate lessons, or anything. Waxing a car is real work! It takes a good amount of elbow grease . . . as well as wax.
None of today’s clue words came up as new. Five of the six jumbles appear to be new, but we’ve definitely seen “somhot” in Jumbles gone by. Fortunately, none of them gave me any trouble this morning. The answer letter layout was a stupendous sixteen letter jumble. It was superbly cryptic, but the cartoon, and clue/question, set things up for furbishing that smooth gloss of an answer.
Fine cartoon of an old Jumble-mobile, getting washed and waxed. The owner must’ve had a bad experience with other people that he’s hired, because he seems to be stressing. The boys will consummate their task, after they consume their lunch. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
