“If I wait for someone else to validate my existence, it will mean that I’m shortchanging myself.” —Zanele Muholi
(Yes, I had to look upher name! I thought she was Janele. I did get Muholi correct though. An artist and visual activist, this is the first of Zanele’s quotes to make it to the Cryptoquote. So we welcome them? – I’d say she again, but Zanele is non-binary – to the Cryptoquote Club today. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

Happy birthday to Matthew Shultz, of Cage the Elephant!
Clue/Question: The vampire was willing to pay more for dentures that were – – –
Answer: NEWFANGLED
(I like the pun, but two things kinda puzzled me. 1. I never knew that it was a single – compound? – word. And 2. I would have expected hyphens between NEW and FANG and LED. Sometimes I just don’t get why they do, or don’t do, certain things! But it’s a seasonally appropriate Jumble, with Halloween a little more than a week away. A few weeks ago we were all college footballed out, so we turned on MeTV and started watching “Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein”. Besides Frankie’s Monster, there’s the Wolf Man and Count Dracula in it. I haven’t seen it since I was a kid, but we only watched about 15-20 minutes of it before finding something else to watch. Too bad.
We appear to have a new clue word today, in “cancan”. That is if Angela doesn’t write in saying we had it on such and such Sunday, way back when! Our pal, ralis95, will have to update his world famous clue word database once again! Again I wasn’t sure “cancan” was a single, compound word, but Google confirmed it for me. All of the jumbles appear to be new. The answer letter layout was a tenacious ten letter jumble. With these letters I knew it had to be NEW something!
Great, silly cartoon! Dracula as a gummer! I guess he should have stayed away from all those sweet young things! Even the dentist is a vampire. And, it looks like there are two other patients, hanging out in the waiting room. Fun Jumble. Be well and do good, friends.) —YUR
