Apple TV+ announces programming partnership with Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai - Apple

One child, one teacher, one pen and one book can change the world.”   —   Malala Yousafzai

(I always have a hard time coming up with her last name!  Yes, I had to Google it.  I guess it must be my 20th Century, Anglo/Euro-centric mindset!  I thought I was pretty good coming up with her first name on my own!  Very cool lady though.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Happy belated birthday to Zak Starkey, Ringo’s kid and drummer for bands like The Who and Oasis!

You’re not the only one, UR. It’s hard for us, when a name is transliterated from a non-Roman alphabet, like Pashto! However, we’ll come around …

Remember when Malala was a little girl. She looks almost grown, now. I can’t tell how old she is !

I used to think that most sports announcers were just of modest intelligence, hal. But now I’m very impressed by how they handle all the Eastern European, African, Arabic, and Pacific Islander names. To me it’s all alphabet soup! And, don’t get me started on some people’s first names! Some of the spellings just look like pure ignorance to me, but other times you just know that the parents wanted their kids to have “unique” names. — YUR

I don’t remember her as a “little” girl, lwc. I always thought she first got noticed as a mid-to-late teenager. — YUR

Hey, lwc! You were right, and I was wrong! Malala was a little girl when she first came on the scene. There was a Jeopardy question regarding her in 2009 being an 11 year old child! So, I guess that would make her about 23 or 24 today.

Unc says I was right about Malala Yousafzai being young when we first saw her.

I remember her being young; but what I recalled most, was her maturity and stoicism beyond her years.

I was never that mature, not even now ! 🙂
