Jumble Spoiler – 08/20/21

Clue/Question:  The fashion model complained that always being on a diet was – – –

Answer:  WEARING THIN

(Great double pun!  Fashion models WEAR clothes, and – traditionally – they are THIN.  It’s not an easy life.  It’s very similar to ballet, and modern, dancers.  They also are required to be thin, and there are times that they basically starve themselves.  I remember attending some parties for ballet dancers, in my younger years, and being very disappointed in seeing only crudités and Perrier!  No chips or soda?  And, ugh . . . cottage cheese!  Blecchh!

All of today’s clue words are old favorites.  A few we haven’t seen in a while, but nothing new.  Update on yesterday’s Spoiler:  It turns out we have had PUFFIN before, but it came on a Sunday, so it escaped the ralis95 listing.  I feel confident that it will be included going forward.  All the jumbles appear to be new.  I was able to see – unscramble – them all right away.  The answer letter layout was a cryptic eleven letter jumble.  Nothing given away.

Great cartoon of three friends trying to enjoy a meal.  The model’s SLICE is ridiculously teeny!  Besides being thinner, she also appears to be shorter than her friends.  Must be from the lifetime of malnutrition.  Hopefully, she can pig out on that salad!    Cute kitty sleeping on the couch.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
