The work will wait while you show the child the rainbow, but the rainbow won’t wait while you do the work.”   —   Patricia Clifford

Answer:  FLIGHT OF FANCY

(I love this Jumble pun!  I thought it was very well thought out, and executed beautifully.  It just runs the risk of me going on a rant about the despicable airline industry!  During the virtual grounding that plagued the industry, during last year’s lock-down, they had the chance to partially redeem themselves by removing a row – or two – of seats in Economy, to restore a sensible – and humane – amount of legroom.  But, no.  They decided to continue their money grubbing ways of overbooking people into cramped, uncomfortable seats, and giving them nothing but cheap pretzels and crappy coffee.  But, you know me.  I can’t complain!  You know I could go on.  But I’ll spare you anymore.

Would you believe that David L. Hoyt not only gave us A new clue word, but he gave us TWO new clue words today?!  Yeppers, both GRIFT and PUFFIN do not appear on the latest edition of the world famous ralis95 clue word database.  Hopefully, the big Boss-Man is reading this.  And, did you know that WordPress does not acknowledge GRIFT as a legitimate word.  Let’s see.  Do they have a problem with grifter?  Yup!  Stupid Limeys!  LOL!  Three of the jumbles came up as new, but we’ve certainly seen “rahod” before.  I had a little trouble seeing “lunacy”  There is definitely a joke to be made there.  But I’ll leave it up to you folks.  The answer letter layout was a thrilling thirteen letter jumble.  I didn’t struggle to get the final answer, and I think that the “pie in the sky” comment from the mustache guy had a lot to do with it.

Great historical/period piece cartoon from Mr. Knurek.  I really liked the model of the propeller plane on the table.  And, I thought that the ashtray and the lit cigarette were a nice touch.  And, of course, the non-PowerPoint presentation helped set the tone.  Excellent Jumble.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
