“We must not allow other people’s limited perceptions to define us.” — Virginia Satir
(A great quote. A truth that many don’t learn until much later in life. The psychotherapist and author, Ms. Satir, was known for Family Systems Therapy, but ironically she was twice divorced. It happens! This is our first Virginia Satir quote at the Cryptoquote, so we welcome her to the Cryptoquote Club today. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

Happy birthday to Joe Jackson!
Unc, I just heard that the next governor of New York State is from the back woods of Buffalo, New York. What do y’all know about her ?
Is she even ready for the big city in Albany ? 🙂
lwc,
You need more than a little schoolin’, brother! Buffalo is the 2nd largest city in the state of New York, with a metro population of about 1.1 million. It’s hardly the “back woods” by anybody’s standards. Albany is actually only the 6th largest city in the state, behind Rochester, Yonkers, and Syracuse.
But besides that, I know squat about the woman. You likely know how state politics go, if the person running for governor is from one end of the state (Queens), they pick a running mate from near the other end of the state, to make for a “balanced ticket”.
She’ll have the distinction of being the first woman Governor of New York State. Whether she is just a caretaker, for the next 15 months, or actually runs in 2022 remains to be seen.

WOW ! !
1.1 million people in Buffalo !
That’s bigger than Atlanta !
Who knew ? ? ! ! 😮
Not really, lwc. I was talking about the greater metropolitan area, not just the city itself. Atlanta’s is a bit over 6 million people.
