Drew Houston - Wikipedia

Don’t worry about failure; you only have to be right once.”   —   Drew Houston

(Another American entrepreneur who happens to look like Elon Musk?  At least Drew came up with a great quote!  This appears to be his first quote at the Cryptoquote, so we welcome him to the Cryptoquote Club today!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Spruce and Pine Tree Privacy Screening - Evergreen Trees

Answer:  SPRUCE IT UP

(My daughter got this pun on her own, so I guess the “kids” still use the word SPRUCE this way!  A house looks positively naked, until you landscape it properly.  Don’t you think?  As they grow, they provide cooling shade in the summer, and a nice wind break in the winter.  And, they turn carbon dioxide into oxygen!  Just don’t over landscape, especially too close to the house!

All familiar old clue words again.  Two of the jumbles appear to be new, but we have definitely seen both “arpta” and “lihdc” in previous Jumbles.  The answer letter layout was a tidy ten letter jumble.  It sure doesn’t look obvious to me!

Great suburban domestic scene cartoon.  Not sure if those are birds in the clouds, or just additional billows.  There’s no doubt about the bird on the chimney though!  He probably can’t wait to perch in their new tree!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

James Baldwin 1979 20/20 Interview Surfaced for the First Time - Why ABC Buried James Baldwin Interview

It is certain, in any case, that ignorance, allied with power, is the most ferocious enemy justice can have.”   —   James Baldwin

(We all saw that – here in the US of A – between January 2017 to January 2021.  Some of us might not want to admit that, but I guess they’re entitled to their own “facts”.  Ooh!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

The Reunification of Germany timeline | Timetoast timelines

Answer:  DESIGNATIONS

(A momentous occasion, for the proud people of Germany.  This wasn’t really a pun though, was it?  Am I missing something?

No new clue words again.  Two of the jumbles appear to be new though.  But we’ve definitely seen “penit” and “nasdt” before.  The answer letter layout was a tremendous twelve letter jumble.  My daughter – who actually did this one in my absence – had to text me the Jumble, for me to give her the final answer.  I suspect she was looking for more of a pun too.

I always enjoy Jeff’s historical piece cartoons.  I’m sure that Helmut Kohl must have represented the former West Germany, but I’m not sure who signed for the former East Germany.  I do remember when they tore down the Berlin Wall though.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

The Best Drill Bits for Concrete Top 5 Picks by the Experts - Tomboy Tools

Answer:  BORE THE BRUNT OF IT

(An excellent Jumble pun!  Utilizing a wonderful phrase!  Haven’t heard it in a while.  Hopefully, the guy is using a concrete/masonry drill bit.  If not, they could be in for a long day, and the drill is likely going to overheat.

No new clue words.  Three of the jumbles came up as new, but we’ve definitely seen “bireb” before.  I don’t believe I struggled to get any of these words.  The answer letter layout was a thrilling thirteen letter jumble.  The final answer slots helped in getting the final answer.  Being familiar with the phrase helped too.

Workmanlike cartoon!  Well, what did you expect?  It’s good that the guy was wearing safety goggles and work gloves.  It looks like the drill is already starting to overheat.  The guy might be relying on the sledge hammer sooner than he expects.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
