“Consistency in regard to opinions is the slow poison of intellectual life.” —Unknown
(I think if there had been a comma after “consistency” I would have gotten “regard” faster. As it were, I had to write out BDGJMQRVXZ, and figure out what made sense! This was a fun/challenging solve though. We haven’t had an Unknown in quite a while. If you’re not flexible, and unable to evolve, when it comes to your opinions, you are never going to grow. This I believe. Be well and do good, friends.) —YUR

Answer: APPARENT
(*Ba-dum-tsss*! Oh, yeah. This is truly a pun-gent stinky pun! That’s why I like it. I love hearing people groan as they hear them. Their *pain* gives me great pleasure. I guess that kind of makes me a linguistic masochist. So, take that you grammaticasters! Puns and colloquialisms are here to stay! Actually, aside from puns, I kind of side with them. As long as they don’t go too far.
Today’s clue words already reside on the ralis95 clue word database. However, all of the jumbles are coming up as new, for me. I was able to see them all immediately though. The answer letter layout was another great eight letter jumble. Nicely cryptic. The “Duh” may have done it for me!
Fine cartoon of a parent/teacher/student conference. Sammy looks like he’s probably a very good student. Unlike yer uncle! I definitely just went through the motions in high school. I was one of the many who benefited from the Regents Exams theft of 1974. It was a big New York State scandal back then. If I had had to take them I don’t know if I ever would have gotten into college. I did apply myself in college though. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

Happy birthday to Garth Hudson, of The Band! (SO much better than the Grateful Dead, IMO!)
