The Best Wine Bar, in Boston

Visual Description:  Complaining couple.

LOALW  =  ALLOW,  GUYRB  =  RUGBY,  SNYITK  =  STINKY,  LXAHEE  =  EXHAL  —   Giving us:  AWRBINHE

Clue/Question:  After raising their prices, the bistro at the vineyard turned into a – – –

The Best Wine Bars in Boston Right Now

Answer:  WHINE BAR

(A little bit of a letdown, after THEREABOUT.  But I’m not going to make a big STINKY about it.  We have to ALLOW for the more obvious gimmes, from time to time.  Let the Brits get in a snit over us Yanks calling their Golf “Open” The British Open.  I’d rather be watching Major League RUGBY anyway.  So, everybody EXHALE, because Collin Morikawa is peaking at just the right time.  USA!  USA!  USA!  Hey.  We’ve all got a little jingo in us!

No new clue words today.  ALLOW is one of those words that spells out in alphabetical order.  Three of the jumbles came up as new, for me.  But breathe easy, we’ve all seen “lxahee” before.  It always seems to take me a few looks to see “RUGBY”.  The answer letter layout was a straight eight letter jumble.  It was fairly inconspicuous.  The quotation marks, the setup, and the cranks’ complaints . . . served me well in getting the final answer.

Either David, or Jeff, must have become oenophiles not too long ago.  We seem to be seeing more wine related jumbles recently.  No complaints though.  But listen, folks.  You can’t take your frustrations out on the wait staff, as they’ve just go a job to do.  But I do know how this couple feels.  We used to have a great Vietnamese restaurant near us.  It was set in this little hole-in-the-wall strip mall store, and it had about five tables.  The food was great, and very reasonable!  So, what do they do?  They land a much bigger venue, in a more upscale location, and jack their prices way up.  Great for the owner.  Not so much for their original clientele.  We just have to take these things “Day by Day”!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Muhammad Ali - Wikipedia

Answer:  THEREABOUT(s)

(Excellent stinky pun.  Wouldn’t be surprised if it stumped some of you.  All old clue words.  Two of the jumbles seem new, but it looks like we’ve seen “neuvea” and “pomho” befo.  Superlative 10 letter answer letter layout.  Highly cryptic.  Fun canned histrionics promotion scene.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Answer: REEKING HAVOC

(Today’s Jumble answer, above all other days’ Jumble answers, is a classic stinky pun!  And, I know you love it.  Because I love it.  We’re going to go minimalist today.

No new clue words.  But two new jumbles.  We’ve seen both “gucoh” and “raayiv” before.  Good jumbles though.  The answer letter layout was a terrific twelve letter jumble.  It was wonderfully enigmatic.  The quotation marks were very helpful clues.

Fine cartoon of the family pet who’s being forbidden from the house.  Although, staying out in the backyard, with our striped friends, probably won’t make matters any better.  I really liked how one of their tails is poking out from behind a bush!  Oh, well.  They used to say use tomato juice, but I think that has all changed.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Manuka Honey Benefits: 8 Amazing Health Benefits of Manuka Honey

Answer:  BEE WORTH IT

(Sweet!  All you need is the proper buzz, and people will swarm like crazy, to embrace the latest fad!  Today, It’s honey from Down Under!  I think some Aussies and Kiwis are laughing all the way to the bank!  If you’re into the caché of the day, then go ahead and spend the cash.  All honey is better for you than refined sugar, but you’re probably better off sticking with a locally sourced honey, for your tea and your sore throats.  No need to busy yourself combing through the colony, looking for the current organic golden child.

All of today’s clue words are familiar old worker bees.  Three of the jumbles are new to the hive, but “poyrth” has been used before.  The answer letter layout was a tasty ten letter jumble.  I could say it was “bee-utiful”, but some of you might bee tempted to swat me for that.

Nice cartoon of a trendy health food store.  The wife seems to be fully in control, while the husband embraces his uber-nerd.  LOL!  The jar looks just like what I looked up!  Bee well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Ray Bradbury's Greatest Writing Advice ‹ Literary Hub

Half the fun of the travel is the esthetic of lostness.”   —   Ray Bradbury

(A relatively short quote, but a fairly tough solve too.  KJT was THE, as I suspected all along.  But it took pretty much til the very end to come up with ESTHETIC.  I finally took the plunge after I – correctly – surmised the G was the F.  But that was after struggling with LOSTNESS – which isn’t an actual word – NOT being BUSINESS!  I like ones like this.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Weight Gain Is No Friend to Aging Lungs - Consumer Health News | HealthDay

Visual Description:  The post pandemic predicament.

NEPDU  =  UPEND,  ACEYD  =  DECAY,  WLIPOL  =  PILLOW,  CEOBNK  =  BECKON   —   Giving us:  UNDECLWBKO

Clue/Question:  Not sticking to his diet meant his belt no longer fit.  To use it, he’d need to – – –

Answer:  BUCKLE DOWN

(Imagine an Italian Johnny Cochran:  Ifa da belta does nota fit . . . you musta NOTa quit . . . you diet!  Okay, a stereotypical, straight outta central casting, fresh off the boat . . . Italian.  I don’t need Angela putting out a contract on me!  LOL!  I hope this guy’s event is more than a couple of weeks away.  Otherwise, he’s going to have to invest in some pretty tight Spanx!  A lot of people put on some weight because of the lockdown.  I, on the other hand, lost weight.  You know what a contrarian yer uncle is!

All of today’s clue words have spent varying amounts of time on the ralis95 clue word database.  Two of the jumbles appear to be new.  Although we’ve surely seen both “nepdu” and “wlipol” in earlier Jumbles.  They all came to me right away this morning.  The answer letter layout was a tenebrous ten letter jumble!  Yeah, I’d never heard of the word before, but it’s a real word.  Definitely NOT obvious.

Cute cartoon.  It looks like he got two pair of plaid pants with his suit.  It also looks like his wife could stand to buckle down a bit.  But, when you’ve been married for a number of years, weight usually isn’t much of an issue.  When you’re with someone, day in and day out, you don’t even notice.  But then you try to try on something you haven’t worn in many months and . . . Fun Jumble!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
