COVID vaccine gender gap: More women than men getting coronavirus shots - Chicago Sun-Times

Visual Description:  Queue-identified waiters.

NEESS  =  SENSE,  OMGUB  =  GUMBO,  NYADIT  =  DAINTY,  TAXIRM  =  MATRIX   —   Giving us:  NSGUODNTATI

Clue/Question:  They were willing to wait in line to see the show because they heard it was – – –

Frequently asked questions - COVID-19 Vaccine Information for Essex

Answer:  OUTSTANDING

(*Ba-dum-tsss*!  That old gag!  Well, guys, as has been mentioned here numerous times, a lot of our Jumble puns are going to be re-runs of one sort or another.  It doesn’t make the Jumble experience any less, because they’re infrequent, and there is usually a new wrinkle each time.  So, let’s not harp on the last time you may have seen this pun-swer.  Just be in the moment, my friends.  Namaste.

All of this day’s clue words already have a place on the ralis95 clue word database.  Although, three of their jumbles appear to be new.  We have previously seen “neess” before.  I can see both of the six letter jumbles giving some of you a little trouble, but the five letter ones seemed very apparent.  The answer letter layout was an enigmatic eleven letter jumble.  The entire setup just kind of made solving the final answer a breeze.

Cute cartoon of the queue.  It’s nice to see David and Claire getting out and mingling again.  Undoubtedly, they’ve both been vaccinated.  And, good for them!  To all the rest of you who have resisted getting the vaccines, listen to Mitch McConnell, Steve Scalise, and FOX News.  They’ve all – just recently – come out publicly, encouraging folks to get the shots.  They are seeing how this Delta variant has been striking folks who thought they could get by without getting the shots . . . and they’re VERY concerned.  Heck, it’s their constituents!  The more of them who get sick – and possibly die – the more the Democrats will benefit in the next election!  You see, we Democrats don’t want any harm to come to you guys.  You are still our brothers and sisters.  And just remember, all of these vaccines were developed under the Trump administration.  They weren’t designed to hurt anyone.  Least of all you guys.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

20" CLIP-N-TRIM - HEDGE TRIMMING ATTACHMENT - G120B | Granberg International

Visual Description:  Precision pruning laser.

NIRDG  =  GRIND,  TCOLH  =  CLOTH,  TAYERG  =  GYRATE,  UDNNEO  =  UNDONE   —   Giving us:  GINCTHGTEUDE

Clue/Question:  The new equipment they used to trim the bushes was – – –

Toro Battery Hedge Trimmer Review | 60V Brushless | Pro Tool Reviews

Answer:  CUTTING HEDGE

(I want ME one O them!  I don’t have a big hedge, but I do have numerous bushes that need trimming annually.  Plus, I have this neighbor who planted – what were supposed to be just – “bushes” about thirty years ago, but they grew into twenty five foot TREES!  The height doesn’t bother me so much, but all the lower branches jut out about eight feet onto my property, making it very difficult to cut the grass on that side of the back yard.  Now a laser trimmer would be SO sweet!  And if his tree-bushes should happen to catch fire???  Oops!  Mistakes happen!

No new clue words today.  Three of the jumbles are coming up as new for me, but we have unequivocally seen “nirdg” in an earlier jumble.  I thought “tayerg” was the toughest of the jumbles.  I had to skip over it, and come back to it.  The answer letter layout was tree-mendous twelve letter jumble!  Initially, I thought it was a little intimidating, but the pun just kind of came to me.  Nice job, Mr. Hoyt.

The cartoon almost has a space age look to it.  Of course, I have no idea if this is supposed to be laser technology, but it looks pretty cool.  Real clean cut!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Thomas Fuller Quotes - 14 Science Quotes - Dictionary of Science Quotations and Scientist Quotes

He’s my friend who speaks well of me behind my back.”   —   Thomas Fuller

(Sounds like a friend to me too!  What more could one ask for?  This one was a little difficult to start.  I originally thought the first word was going to be IT’S.  But by the time I made it to the author line I was able to see THOMAS, and that made all the difference.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Doe And Fawn Paintings | Fine Art America

Answer:  FAWN OVER HER

(Way too cute to call this one a stinky pun.  Buck Henry is the proud, proud papa.  Jayne Doe is the adoring mama.  And, Li’l Thumper has come to take a peek at the little princess, and future pal.  The setting is idyllic.  A cool forest glade, away from the prying eyes of predators.  All is placid.  All is tranquil.  You can almost hear soft, flutey, classical music playing in the background.

All of today’s clue words are denizens of the ralis95 forest.  Three of the jumbles appear to be new, although we’ve definitely seen “vocnie” in past Jumbles.  It was the toughest of the jumbles for me.  “rhufto” was the next toughest for me.  The answer letter layout was an elegiac eleven letter jumble.  It will haunt me for the rest of my days.  Oh, the humanity!

We’ve already described the wondrous cartoon, so there’s not that much more to say.  I took a nice five mile hike with my daughter this morning.  A good amount of the way out was uphill.  Coming back was a little easier, but the trail is very rocky, and little streams cross it frequently.  Good workout!  Other than, be well and do good, friends!)   —   YUR

International Wedding and Event Planner, UK & Caribbean | Everything You Need to Know About Being a Best Man | Benessamy

Visual Description:  The best man being supportive.

LYODL  =  DOLLY,  CEEEM  =  EMCEE,  SLUAWR  =  WALRUS,  PLAGOL  =  GALLOP   —   Giving us:  DOLMEEWRGLO

Clue/Question:  The husband-to-be who was dressed and ready for his wedding was – – –

Best Man Duties: Everything You Need to Know | Shutterfly

Answer:  WELLGROOMED

(A very dapper Jumble pun!  I don’t think the hyphen was necessary in this instance, as the words were not placed in front of the noun.  I’m the furthest thing from a grammarian, or any qualified linguist, but since it looked a little funny to me I looked it up.  And, that’s what I’m seeing.

None of today’s clue words – three legitimate and one made up – are new.  Two of the jumbles appear to be so, but we have seen “lyodl” and “ceeem” in earlier Jumbles.  The EMCEE said Hello DOLLY, and Paul sang I am the WALRUS.  And, when they were done they all GALLOPed  off the stage!  Maybe Ken can use the clue words differently.  The answer letter layout was an elegant eleven letter jumble.  Not sure if the hyphen actually helped me – LOL – but I was able to see the final answer right away!

For about a half second, I thought that Jeff might be being politically correct, and was giving us a gay wedding.  But then I just figured the one guy was either the best man, or a groomsman.  I wouldn’t be upset to see a Jumble featuring a same-sex wedding/marriage, but I’m not sure how it would play in Peoria!  And, fortunately, I don’t think The Jumble is published in Afghanistan, so . . .  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

TIME Magazine Cover: Konrad Adenauer - Aug. 31, 1953 - Konrad Adenauer - Germany

The one sure way to conciliate a tiger is to allow oneself to be devoured.”   —   Konrad Adnenauer

(I’m sure that works out very well . . . for the tiger.  I was thinking “conciliate”, but I’d already used the C!  Then, I realized my Kraut heritage, and change Conrad to Konrad.  That freed up the C!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

How to Plant an Oak Tree in 4 Simple Steps - Illinois Farm Bureau Partners

Visual Description:  Planting shelter from the sun.

SEDODT  =  ODDEST,  WNDUIN  =  UNWIND,  DCIACI  =  ACIDIC,  LOPHAO  =  HOOPLA,  PCLAAA  =  ALPACA,  BROFID  =  FORBID   —   Giving us:  OSTUWDADHOOAAFB

Clue/Question:  The huge oak was being planted and would provide plenty of shade without – – –

Pre-Answer:  Five Words  (1-letter)  (6-letters)  (2-letters)  (1-letter)  (5-letters)

Trees — Hoerr Nursery

Answer:  A SHADOW OF A DOUBT

(Easiest Sunday Jumble in quite a long time.  The cartoon’s dialog, and the clue/question just made the final answer so apparent.  All the clue words are well used.  Five of the jumbles came up as new, for me.  The only one I’ve definitely seen is “sedodt”.  The answer letter layout was an impressive fifteen letter jumble though.  Without all of the setup this might have been a difficult solve.  That’s a fairly large tree.  Definitely not a sapling.  A tree that size is likely pretty expensive.  Hopefully the roots don’t destroy her patio!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
