Robert H. Schuller - Emmy Awards, Nominations and Wins | Television Academy

Problems are not stop signs, they are guideposts.”   —   Robert H. Schuller

(I guess even televangelists can spout good advice.  Too bad most of them don’t practice what they preach.  Just keep phoning in those donations, folks!  Ugh!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Whatchamacallit Candy Bar Unwrapping - YouTube

Answer:  DOODADS

(Dads do like to dabble in doohickeys!  Clearly, this is the inventor of the Whatchmacallit candy bar, a Hershey product that first came out in 1978.  Despite it not being heavily marketed since the 1980s, it’s still being produced today.  They also came out – briefly – with a candy bar called Thingamajig, and just recently they started producing the Whozeewhatzit!  I kid you not!  They all contain some kind of peanut butter flavoring, so they are not on my list of candies.  Ever since I got airsick after eating a Clark Bar back in 1963!  The funny thing is I still love peanut butter, and I still love chocolate.  Just not together.  Interestingly, I CAN tolerate peanuts in chocolate!  Although I don’t go out of my way to eat the combination.  Why am I puttering so with strange, and aged, candy bars?  Because I can!  LOL!

All of today’s clue words are longtime members of the ralis95 clue word database.  However, Monsieur Hoyt has come up with all new jumbles for them today.  Surprisingly, I had a bit of trouble with “dornap”.  I beg your PARDON.  The answer letter layout was a slight seven letter jumble.  Nicely cryptic.  You had to pick up on the words “devices” and “gadgets”, and that the teens’ Pops was the tinkerer.

Great cartoon of someone that Jeff admires, and his kids.  You can always tell from the non-generic depictions.  Knowing that Jeff is a big magic buff, I’d guess that the main character is David Copperfield.  But that would just be a guess.  I’m sure that someone will chime in with some details.  And, maybe Ken will entertain us by utilizing today’s clue words!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
