Clue/Question:  The horse asked for new horseshoes because he thought it would – – –

Answer:  BEHOOVE HIM

(Ah, yes!  I love the smell of horse-apples in the morning!  Smells like . . . a Jumble pun!  That was most definitely a stinker.  But in a good way.  It was nice to see that the horse was able to rein in his urge to nag his owner.  He didn’t want to saddle his un-stable owner – Hey!  He’s conversing with his horse! – with undue clip-clop, that might spur him to buck on pony-ing up for new shoes.  After all, isn’t that the mane point?

It looks like Hoyt decided to trot out some familiar old clue words today.  Two of the jumbles are coming up as new for me.  But both “veomi” and “cuvoh” are old Jumble chestnuts!  The answer letter layout was a terrific ten letter jumble.  That Hoyt is such a jumble stud!  Neigh!  The thoroughbred of the word puzzle world!

Cute cartoon of the valiant young steed, and his western Wilbur, completely unbridled, inside the paddock.  I see a little mouse hole in that lower panel.  Hopefully, the equine can tolerate a barn feline, as a barn cat can run roughshod over those pesky little prancers.  What a hackneyed commentary!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
