“One merit of poetry few persons will deny: it says more and in fewer words than prose.” — Voltaire
(For me, poetry implies and hints at a lot of things, and actually “says” very little. Sure, there is some poetry that doesn’t require a degree in linguistics. But heavy metaphors and similes, and subjective imagery, can be incomprehensible to me. Just give it to me straight up. No chaser. Be well and do good, friends.) —YUR
Clue/Question: It was easy for them to leave on time because everyone was – – –
Pre-Answer: Three Words (7-letters) (3-letters) (5-letters)
Answer: ALREADY ALL READY
(I bet these kids have been ready for weeks! And, they probably did not really sleep all that well last night. For most kids, this is bigger than Christmas morning. Getting to go to Sea World, Universal Studios and Disney World were probably the highlights of my kids’ childhood. And, those are just the big three. There are plenty of other family fun attractions in the Orlando area too. Pretty much something for everyone. At least for everyone who is young at heart.
All of today’s clue words are as familiar as Mickey, Minnie and Goofy. Four of the jumbles appear to be new players, but “lorald” and “sucace” have made previous appearances. The only jumble that slowed me down was “tnrayo”. Our old friend Linda Lee might say that was a sneaky one! The answer letter layout was a fantastic fifteen letter jumble. But the A’s and the L’s kind of stuck out for me, so I didn’t have to struggle to figure out the final answer. The final answer reminded me of a phrase that both of my parents used – a lot – whenever one of us would – repeatedly – ask if we could do something, that we wanted to do. And that was: ALRIGHT ALREADY!
Great cartoon of the – presently – happy family. The parents are going to be in for hours of: “Are we there yet?” “How much longer ’til we get there” “Stop bugging me!” And: “I gotta pee!” By the time they arrive the kids will be amped to hit all the spots right away. And, the parents will want to sleep. Hey guys! Did you know there was a hidden event in today’s answer letter layout? Yep, it is D-DAY! 77 years ago today the Allied forces launched the largest invasion of all time, that – eventually – resulted in the defeat of the Axis powers. So, take a moment to reflect on that. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
