Visual Description: Keyboard convo.
ALYNM = MANLY, CABHE = BEACH, FYLOST = SOFTLY, VOLIJA = JOVIAL — Giving us: MNEHOTJI
Clue/Question: The hyphen could see the person typing words and was anxious to – – –
Answer: JOIN THEM
(I think the hyphen should be happy he’s NOT the Caret symbol! That’s probably one of the least used keys, on my keyboard at least. That and the Tilde and Acute/left quote key. Whenever I use single quotes I always open and close with the lower case one with the double quote key. Y’all know I hunt and peck, right? I took typing in high school, but only so much of it resonated with me. I was never much for . . . using the force!
All familiar old clue words today. I can hardly wait to see what scenario Ken is going to work up with these words! Two of the jumbles are coming up as new. However, we’ve assuredly seen both “cabhe” and “volija” in past Jumbles. The answer letter layout was a snappy eight letter jumble. More than adequately cryptic!
Fine cartoon of a semi–anthropomorphic keyboard. Look kids! I was able to use the hyphen! Looks like the typist could use a shave. So could I, for that matter. So, I guess I better wrap things up. Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend, folks. Bear in mind the sacrifice that so many of our military personnel have made for our country. Try to show some appreciation for that. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

Happy birthday to Noel Gallagher, of Oasis!
UR,
As I SOFTLY strolled down the BEACH I suddenly heard a group of older men sitting around a table…From the gist of their conversation I deduced that they must be Veterans…as I started to approach them I attempted to appear in a convincing MANLY manner…they asked if I would like to “JOIN THEM” and sit a little off to the side of them…That was a little strange to me, for there was an empty chair at the far side of the table…Without me asking, one of the Vets explained the Empty Chair was for their friends who couldn’t be here in person but in spirit!!*…I mostly listened and asked a few questions whose answers enlightened me ¥…….
In my life I have been in combat zones but Never in active combat…Nobody can truly understand/relate to a Combat Vet but another Combat Vet☆…….
God Bless all American Veterans and their Allies…and God Bless America!!!

Well said, Ken! — YUR
That was lovely Ken.
Been stuck on this jumble. Came to my Unc for help. I had MAINLY down for MANLY. Oy! But, when I corrected my clue letter I finished the Jumble quickly!
Typing was my livelihood. I was a secretary for 33 years.
Take care all. LL
