Jumble Spoiler – 05/25/21

Biltmore Outdoor Summer Concerts 2020

Visual Description:  Thunderstorm delay.

RUGDO  =  GOURD,  CCIKL  =  CLICK,  GNNINI  =  INNING,  TDOSED  =  ODDEST   —   Giving us:  GRDCICINNOEST

Clue/Question:  The band’s outdoor performance was ready to start, but the weather was – – –

Outdoor Concert and Movie VenuesAnswer:  DISCONCERTING

(A most excellent stinky pun!  A little rain never hurt anyone, but you really do not want to mess around when it comes to lightening.  At an outdoor venue like this it going to be difficult to find adequate shelter.  If they drove to it their best bet is probably to go to their cars.  It should pass fairly quickly.  Hopefully, it’s not part of something bigger, like a tornado!

No new clue words today.  Three of the jumbles appear to be new, but we’ve definitely seen “tdosed” in the past.  That was probably the toughest of the jumbles though.  The answer letter layout was a thrilling thirteen letter jumble.  I first toyed with the word possibly ending in RING, but as I checked off those letters, and rewrote the leftovers, I was able to see the final answer.

Fine cartoon of an outdoor concert.  Not using that word should’ve been a big tip off to me, but I didn’t initially pick up on it.  It looks like Jeff has named the band The Weather Kings.  At least that’s how I’m reading it.  That’s made up as far as I know, and I can’t figure out what other Kings they might be.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Happy birthday to steel guitarist Cindy Cashdollar!  She lives up in Woodstock.

Cryptoquote Spoiler – 05/25/21

K.Flay | Fox Theater

I’ve always had a duck personality.  Calm above water, feet going crazy below.”   —   K. Flay

(Someone else – on television I believe – just recently used this duck analogy, but it wasn’t about a personality.  Just about ducks.  But it definitely describes some people.  This is our first quote from the American singer, songwriter, rapper and musician, at the Cryptoquote.  So we welcome Kristine Meredith Flaherty to the Cryptoquote Club today!  The name wasn’t familiar to me, but I do know at least one of her songs, and I’ve posted it below.  Warning; early in the song there is a curse word, but I’m pretty sure it’s just the one.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
