(I guess that’s why he was a good interviewer!  Similar to Letterman.  I love Colbert, but he’s NOT a good interviewer.  He’s too busy trying to be smarter – and cuter – than his guests.  He’s improving some, but he still has a long way to go.  This appears to be our first Larry King quote, since I’ve been posting these spoilers.  So, we welcome ol’ Larry to the Cryptoquote Club today.  With having eight wives/marriages I guess you’d have to say that he had a lust for life!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Jumble Spoiler – 04/21/21

Clue/Question:  The squirrel with the bushy tail was getting married, and she was – – –

Answer:  “BRIDE–EYED“

(I haven’t heard this expression in a while!  Look at you, all bright eyed and bushy tailed!  Probably not since my Mom passed.  It usually means eager and excited, and the phrase does come from a description of a squirrel!  It’s probably one of the reasons that squirrels are the most loved of the rodents.  Not after they chew a hole in your roof, and set up nests in your attic, but other than that they’re adorable.

All commonplace clue words today.  Three of the jumbles are coming up as new for me, but we’ve definitely seen “pleeo” at some prior time.  No stumpers, for me.  The answer letter layout was a nifty nine letter jumble.  If you weren’t – somehow – familiar with the phrase you might have had trouble coming up with the pun.

Really cute squirrel cartoon.  The dresses are great, and I liked the little wedding arch/arbor in the background.  The squirrel’s wedding reception will take place at my bird feeder.  That’s two talking animal Jumbles in a row!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
