“To give a man full knowledge of morality, I would send him to no other book than the New Testament.” — John Locke
(Because . . . God knows . . . you wouldn’t want to send him the Old Testament! Nothing but begetting, and smiting, and magical nonsense going on in that old thing. At the very least, the N.T. concentrates more on love and forgiveness. All offense, but I’d rather have a nice John Lennon quote, any day. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

You bring a good point, Unc that I’m noticing about the New Testament.
The Old testament had a very punitive bend that didn’t account much for forgiveness. The New Testament is mainly about Jesus and his emphasizes forgiveness over punishment.
However, let’s not forget that one moment Jesus went off the rails. He took his whip to the moneychangers inside the temple and began whipping heads.
Even He was capable of righteous anger !
The “Temple Tantrum” is one of the cuter tales of the N.T., lwc. This supposed darker episode helped to humanize the guy who was predominantly described as always “peaceful”. Heck, the dude was only human. 😉 — YUR
