Clue/Question: When Babe Ruth enjoyed a meal after a game, he was – – –
Answer: AT THE PLATE
(But he ate a butt-load of hot dogs, and gallons of beer! Often during, and in between, games! How do you not like a guy who eats hot dogs and drinks beers??? Smoked cigars too! And – allegedly – he also loved the ladies of the night! Babe Ruth wasn’t just a Yankee. Pssshh! Babe Ruth was BASEBALL, baby! Can you imagine what kind of numbers he might have posted had he led half a healthier lifestyle? It boggles the mind.
All familiar clue words today. Three of the jumbles appear to be new, but we’ve seen “reetx” before. I thought “pmhear” was a clever jumble. I’m always tempted to put the P and H together. The answer letter layout was a tidy ten letter jumble. I thought it was enjoyably cryptic. Good job, David!
Fine cartoon of The Great Bambino! The Sultan of Swat! The Colossus of Clout! It looks like Jeff drew him a little light though. The Babe was clearly overweight, even by today’s standards. But was he really? 6ft 2in and 216 lbs is fairly svelte. Players such as Jonathan Broxton, Dmitri Young and CC Sabathia played at 300 lbs! Bartolo Colon was 285. And Cecil Fielder, Mo Vaughn and Prince Fielder were all 275 at one time or another. I think with Babe it was the beer gut and the paunch in his face that made him look larger. And, back in the day, 200 lbs was heavy. Heck, I was once 225 at 5ft 11in at one time, but I carried it pretty well. Now, I’m in the 180 range. Great seasonal Jumble! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

UR,
Don’t over EXERT yourself when you TALLY-up
the stats…Also, remember if you try to HAMPER the MASCOT in its duties you will be in deep DoDo with the little ones(??¿)…….
A little thinker for you all: Babe Ruth could have legitimately made the Hall of Fame as a Pitcher
if he wasn’t such superb Hitter…can you name a player today who could claim that?? {Remember, no DH back in the day}…….
Batter up…Byyyyy…….k
Unc, Your comments are PERFECT. Go Yanks, but baseball is killing time before our Bills hit the turf. I’m so glad you’re back. Have a Blessed Easter and may the Peace of the Risen Christ be with you. Wimpy
Are you talking about the kid, Shohei Ohtani? A little early to be talking about the Hall for him. He is exciting though. — YUR

Thank you, oh Anonymous one! — YUR
If Babe Ruth led a “healthy” life style, he would have been as boring as the rest of us !
Checkout this picture of Shohei Ohtani in full wind-up at the plate.

He must be an exciting hitter to watch !
Yeah. His lifestyle only increased his popularity. Made him a real regular guy. — YUR
