Clue/Question:  The traffic congestion on the highway was a – – –

Answer:  TURNOFF

(Or, at least it resulted in one.  Whenever I’m driving locally, and I encounter a highway backup, I usually head to the nearest exit, so I can take the smaller state and county roads.  I don’t care if it takes just as long, time-wise, as long as I’m moving.  The stopping and going of a highway traffic jam is just so frustrating, so I’ll do whatever I can to escape them.

No new clue words today.  Two of the jumbles came up as new, for me, but we’ve definitely seen “gdune” and “laftun” before.  The answer letter layout was a concise seven letter jumble.  Not obvious, but the final solution was pretty simple.

Fine cartoon of the snarled traffic tie-up.  Is it construction?  Is it an accident?  And, if it’s an accident is it actually on your side, or is it up ahead on the other side of the highway.  That’s even more maddening, because then the slow up is due to rubbernecking!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
