Visual Description: Rock’s negative stereotype.
YAUBO = BAYOU, DYUBD = BUDDY, TENNIY = NINETY, LARNYE = NEARLY — Giving us: BABDDNNENA
Clue/Question: After the Rock group trashed their hotel suite, the hotel manager – – –
Answer: BANNED THE BAND
(Of course, there’s always a certain amount of truth behind all stereotypes! There are tales of certain bands who trashed their hotel rooms, back in the day. Especially, back when there was a huge drug connection with Rock bands. Thankfully, that has largely died down.
David L. Hoyt has given us another new clue word, in “bayou”. More work for ralis95, and his world famous clue word database. That’s three new clue words just this week! Three of the jumbles are coming up as new, for me. But, we’ve definitely seen “tenniy” before. The answer letter layout was a tidy ten letter jumble. But, all the repeating B’s, A’s, D’s and N’s made for a quick solve.
Great cartoon of an exaggerated rock band destroyed hotel suite. I think some bands broke lamps and TVs, and probably punched a few holes in the wall, etc. But, spray painting the walls and setting fire to a mattress is a bit much. Coulda happened, I suppose. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

BAYOU made me feel right at home in Louisiana, UR!

Merci beaucoup, UR!
BAYOU was used on 07/06/62 as ABUOY
It was also used on 05/16/55 as ABUOY!
Are you familiar with the early Naydel puzzles, unclerave? His cartoons were classy and imaginative. Jeff’s are brilliant, but I love the old school feel of Marty’s. I’m no art major, but it’s something about the symmetry that I enjoy the most.
I think this would’ve been 3 and 4 years before David and Jeff were even born, Mike! LOL! The ralis95 clue word database, which I receive a read-only copy of periodically precedes this blog, but I’m pretty sure he was not compiling it that far back. Where are you accessing all these vintage Jumbles, Mike?

WOW! 05/16/55 was a few years before even I was born, Mike! I’m sure I must have done some of the Naydel Jumbles when I was a boy, Mike. Do you know if he also did the artwork for the Junior Jumble? Are these vintage Jumbles available online, or do you own a collection of Jumble books?
— YUR
I’m not familiar with that type of database. I’ve created my own by researching all of the old puzzles. It’s pretty much complete, and took 5 years to do! I definitely ❤️ Jumble!
That is very impressive, Mike! When did you start your Jumble blog? — YUR
Jeff is ‘THE DUDE’ as far as Jumble history goes! I’ve only created a database of anagrams, clue words and dates.
