Aperitif & Digestif: The Bookends to Your Meal - Tales of the Cocktail Foundation

Always rise from the table with an appetite, and you will never sit down without one.”   —   William Penn

(Even though I’m very familiar with the phrase/quote, I was kind of thinking – hoping actually – that the big A-word was going to be APERITIF.  Yeah, I know aperitifs are before dinner drinks, and you would want a digestif after dinner, but that’s where my head was at . . . for a few seconds.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

    “…you would want a digestif after dinner…”

Thanks for enriching my vocabulary, unc.
    I didn’t realize “digestif” was a word.

Now, I can start using it. My friends won’t be sophisicated enough to recognize it.

I guess digestif is a common word . . . in certain circles . . . that I’m not allowed in! And, while it is a valid word, I think it’s a little too French for WordPress. They keep highlighting it as an error! Those friggin’ Limeys bend over backwards to show some of English words Franco origins, but they have a problem with digestif! LOL!
