“Each age has deemed the new-born year the fittest time for festal cheer.” — Walter Scott
(A nice little challenge for the new year! It’s certainly not everyday that we see “festal”. And, citing Walter Scott, without his royal title, added a little intrigue to it. Good one! I hope everyone is celebrating the new year responsibly. Things are finally looking up, but it’s too soon let our guards down. Let’s be smart, folks, and we’ll soon enough conquer COVID-19. Clue/Question: The Sun creates eruptions of magnetic energy with ease because the Sun – – –
Answer: HASA “FLARE“FOR IT
(Excellent stinky pun! And, ya gotta admit, with that solar flare looking like “hair”, and the braggadocio-us dialog, it should remind you of our – thankfully – outgoing President Trump. Let’s see, a bright orange ball of gas, who’s a hot-head, thinks he’s very bright, and acts like the world revolves around him. Hmm.
It seems that Hoyt has given us a new clue word for the New Year, in “rhino”. It kinda sounds familiar to me, but it’s not on my most recent copy of the ralis95 clue word database. I suppose we could have seen it sometime since mid August. I hear an updated one is coming soon! All of the jumbles came up as new today. The answer letter layout was a thrilling thirteen letter jumble. It did a fine job of disguising the final answer. The final answer slots and the quotation marks were big hints for me.
Great galactic cartoon! I suppose that I could be reading a little too much into this Jumble cartoon, but I like my take. Keep the faith that 2021 will be a big improvement over 2020! Peace, prosperity and good health to all of us. Be well and do good, friends.) —YUR
