Sunday Cryptoquote Spoiler – 12/20/20

Free Albert Einstein Cartoon, Download Free Clip Art, Free Clip Art on Clipart Library

The cosmic religious experience is the strongest and the noblest driving force of scientific research.”   —   Einstein

(I think he said this partly to quiet the non-scientific ninnies.  Big Al was a Pantheist.  But, man has always been in search of the meaning/origin of life.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Sunday Jumble Spoiler – 12/20/20

World's Largest Snow Fort Bringing Fun to Colorado Ski Resort | OutThere Colorado

Visual Description:  The home fortress.

GINTKH  =  KNIGHT,  ACUUSC  =  CAUCUS,  NOXYEG  =  OXYGEN,  PMEIOS  =  IMPOSE,  CLAOLE  =  LOCALE,  LHIAEW  =  AWHILE   —   Giving us:  KIHASOENMPEOCLWLE

Clue/Question:  The family was together during the winter storm.  For them there was – – –

Pre-Answer:  Four Words  “(4-letters)”  (5-letters)  (4-letters)  (4-letters)

You Can Rent A Christmas Story House for a Night

Answer:  SNOW PLACE LIKE HOME

(Very cute pun.  And, seasonally appropriate.  Kind of puts me in mind of “A Christmas Story”!  That is one of my must watch annual Christmas movies.  That and “It’s a Wonderful Life”.  Sure, there are plenty of other good Christmas movies, but those two are must watch in my house.  We just got done with a surprising snow storm here.  And, it is staying mostly below freezing.  So, we might be seeing a white Christmas this year!  They are fairly rare in these parts.

No new clue words today.  But, every single jumble came up as new for me.  No real toughies though.  The answer letter layout was a tremendous seventeen letter jumble.  I don’t think it gave anything away.  The quotation marks were a big help.

Love the cartoon!  Building snow forts used to be so much fun!  The kids, and dad, did a great job making theirs look like their house.  Big fun!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Icknield Indagations: The Singular History of the Double Entendre

The habit of going to the bottom of things usually lands a man on top.”   —   Origin Obscure

(Today, this might be considered a sexist quote!  But, trying to make everything gender non-specific is just so ponderous.  I think it really should be getting to the bottom of things anyway.  Unless, there’s supposed to be a double entendre here.  At least, that’s how my warped mind thinks.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Girl doing handstand by michela ravasio - Stocksy United

Visual Description:  Inverted parent.

DYDLO  =  ODDLY,  PWEST  =  SWEPT,  DCIEKW  =  WICKED,  FROADF  =  AFFORD   —   Giving us:  DSWWIAO

Clue/Question:  When she saw her mom upside-down doing a headstand, the girl – – –

Young woman doing a yoga headstand - Spiritual People

Answer:  SAID WOW!

(I loved it!  It’s a totally visual kind of pun.  I guess some purists could argue that the dialog kind of gave away the answer.  I can’t think of any other words that you can make by turning the letters upside-down.  Can any of you?

No new clue words on this day.  Three of the jumbles came up as new for me, but we’ve definitely seen “dydlo” before.  The answer letter layout was a nifty little seven letter jumble.  I’m sure it left some people scratching their heads.

Fun cartoon of a teen/adult daughter and a very youthful, very fit mom!  My only criticism of this Jumble is that mom is doing a handstand, not a headstand.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
