Answer: PERIODICALLY
(Can I get a rim-shot?!! That is most definitely a mega-stinker of a pun! But, these groaners are what us true Jumble solvers/devotees love. The stinkier the better.
None of today’s clue words are new, but all of their jumbles are coming up as new. I was able to see them all right away. We recently had a Jumble where “iodine” was the subject of the puzzle. The answer letter layout was a terrific twelve letter jumble. But, the overall setup made getting the answer pretty easy.
Fine historical, period piece cartoon. From the pictures I’m seeing of Henry Luce, on Google, I’m guessing he’s the one seated at the typewriter. In reading his Wikipedia page, and various other online articles, I found it very odd that they don’t list a cause of death for the man. The dude was worth $100 Million in 1967, and he dies at only age 68?!?! I’d be willing to bet that he died “in-the-saddle”, with *the other woman*, as Nelson Rockefeller reportedly did, and his wife, Clare Boothe Luce, was able to cover it up. His son, Henry III lived to age 80, and died from cardiac arrest, so why get vague on daddyo’s death? Enquiring minds want to know! LOL! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
