“When inviting company, do not tempt the palate with a great variety of unhealthful dainties.” — Catherine Beecher
(Hey! It’s Harriet’s sister! She was a 19th Century American educator, and she was also an early feminine activist. She opposed the Indian Removal Bill, because she saw how devastatingly unfair it was to native Americans. Unfortunately, Andrew Jackson got his way, which led to a series of forced relocations of southern tribes. Of the 46,000 or so people forcibly moved/removed nearly 16,000 perished! That is more than a full 1/3. Just a little more of America’s bloody history. Surprisingly, Catharine – the correct spelling – was NOT a feminist. But, she was a very cool lady, and is brand new to the Cryptoquote! So, we welcome her to the Cryptoquote Club today. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

Glad you caught that spelling, UR! The DO NOT was my starting point, and the author’s last name was pretty much a gimme, though usually preceded by HENRY WARD.
I think I started with WHEN, then DO NOT, hal. And, it took me some time to get the last name. I thought it could be KEEBLER for a while. — YUR
For the last many decades, the Army/Navy Game has been played in Philadelphia.
But, for this year, due to the CoVid-19 predicament, the midshipmen will have to ride 4 1/2 hours to attend the game at West Point’s stadium. That means another 4 1/2 to get home after the game.
There’s an old saying about life in the Navy: “One good deal after another.” !
Not sure why Army, at 7-2, is not favored by more than 7.5 pt.s over Navy, at 3-6, considering they are really the home team this year! Maybe it has something to do with strength of schedule? My Dad was a Marine, so I grew up rooting for Navy. But, I’ve been living about 35-40 minutes from West Point for 35 years, so now I root for Army! — YUR
Navy plays Army today at their field.
Classmates !
Duty: A beautiful word.
“Let’s kick some Mule!”
“Go Navy! Beat Army, Sir!”
