“Psychiatry enables us to correct our faults by confessing our parent’s shortcomings.” — Laurence Peter
(I wonder if Dr. Larry Petey had any idea, when he said this, that it was going to make for one of the toughest Cryptoquotes of all time! I was almost going to give up on this one, and throw myself on the mercy of the readers. I was 99.9% sure the K was the S, but that was about it. With that in mind, I went out on a limb and supposed that NK was US and LB was TO. Then something BNJ could be OUR. Then, I was able to surmise/guess the TDI was ING. Finally, I was able to see CONFESSING. Then CORRECT. From there things fell neatly into place. The other tough thing – in my newspaper at least – was the last word was broken down, from one line to the next, as KSBJLO-
BETTDIK. I couldn’t be sure it was two words hyphenated, or one long word that ran out of space on one line, and continued on the next. I now know it’s one long word, but the break is not a logical break. But, I suppose the newspaper people wouldn’t know this, unless THEY solved it first themselves. And, that seems highly unlikely!
Great quote though! Be well – and if you’re not well don’t simply put all the blame on your parents – and do good, friends.) — YUR
