Visual Description: The denouement of our disposable society.
SYUFS = FUSSY, EKRCE = CREEK, CNOREF = CONFER, NREUUS = UNSURE — Giving us: FSSREEFERUUE
Clue/Question: When the landfill started to overflow, employees had to – – –
Answer: REFUSE THE REFUSE
(A great homograph-ic word play pun! Most people? know that the word ref-use is a synonym for trash, or garbage, rubbish, waste, junk, etc.. And, if they didn’t know it before, they certainly know it now! But, these kind of homographs are also one of the reasons why the English language is so difficult. Even for those of us born into it!
Mr. David L. Hoyt hes decided to bestow upon us a new clue word today, in “confer”! Our good friend, ralis95, will have to tender the word to his world famous clue word database. Please allow me a little leeway here, and I’ll admit that I’ve gone way off the word-nerd rails! All four of today’s jumbles are coming up as new. Luckily, I was able to get all of them right away. The answer letter layout was a terrific twelve letter jumble. But, all the repeating letters made solving the final answer a breeze.
Great cartoon of a guy trying – unsuccessfully – to unload his refuse. Does the current state of affairs now make this a landfull??? Most of us, unwittingly, contribute to our wasteful disposable society. All in the name of “convenience”. We had much less garbage in the days when we used a diaper service, to clean our reusable cloth diapers. And, deliveries of milk in reusable/returnable glass bottles. And, soft drinks – and beer – were sold in reusable/returnable glass bottles. And, most people used to use washable cloth napkins. And, don’t get me started on “individually packaged” foods! Or, the propensity of our eating “fast foods”! And, it used to be that the vast majority of our various machines/appliances were easily repairable. But, now those things are made to be replaced every few years. And, like so many of the things referenced above, they’re mostly made of plastics! No wonder our landfills are overflowing! We’ve all got to do more to get off this plastics – and disposables – merry-go-round. These so-called conveniences are coming at a price that none of us can afford to pay. Please consider my rant! Be well and do good, friends. Reduce, reuse, and recycle.) — YUR

Always brilliant.
Thank you, Micheline! It’s always nice to see someone respond to the serious issues. — YUR
